Southwest High School Theatre presents Once on This Island, directed by Alison Thvedt with musical direction by Eric Heltemes and choreography by Taliah Newell
This Caribbean-influenced musical folk tale tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues Daniel, a boy from the other side of the island, with whom she falls in love. Unbeknownst to Ti Moune, the pompous gods of the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger: love or death? Don't miss this Calypso-flavored tale of love in a world of prejudice.
This is the annual Footlights Freshman & Sophomore Musical at Southwest. Lyrics and book by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty. Based on the book "My Love, My Love" by Rosa Guy.
