Southwest High School Theatre presents Antigone, by Sophocles, directed by Margaret Berg
The curse placed on Oedipus haunts his daughter, the rebellious Antigone, in this dystopian staging of a classic Greek tragedy. One of drama's most compelling heroines, Antigone pits her personal beliefs against the King of Thebes, her uncle Creon, in a bloody test of wills that leaves few unharmed. Emotions fly as she challenges the king for the right to bury her own brother. Determined but doomed, Antigone seals her own fate with fearless grace- and dares us to choose between our personal values and those of the world in which we live.
Donations for the American Refugee Committee welcomed at each performance.
